EYOF 2011 – ONE YEAR TO GO

Trabzon, July 27 – The organisers of the next summer EYOF have celebrated one year to go to the 11th European Youth Olympic Festival with a spree of festive events. This EYOF will indeed take place in Trabzon 23-30 July next year.

Minister of State Faruk Nafiz Özak, Trabzon Mayor Orhan Fevzi Gümrükçüoğlu and the Rector of Karadeniz Technical University Prof.Dr. Dr. Osman Turan Kongre ve Kültür Merkezi'nde toplantı düzenlendi. Osman Turan, together with numerous political and sports personalities, also took part in the unveiling of the Festival’s mascot “Hamsi”, which will be a focal point in all future events linked to the Trabzon 2011 EYOF.

For the festivities, the population of this small city on the shores of the Black Sea was able to enjoy the singing of Fuat Saka and and a show by the traditional dance group Kolbasti.
