2012 WINTER YOG: JUST FOUR DAYS TO GO..

InnsbruckInnsbruck, 9th January 2012 – the great day is approaching fast and everything is now ready in the Tyrolean capital that will greet young athletes from across the world for the inaugural winter YOG.

The YOG Flame lit in Athens last 17th December and then taken to Austria, began its tour of the country on the 27th of December 2011 and has now almost reached its final destination at Bergisel, where, on the 13th of January it will light the Olympic Cauldron and so mark the start to the Games.

The Flame will be carried by a total of 2,012 runners, in the name of excellence, respect and friendship, and has excited great enthusiasm for the Games throughout Austria.

As to public attendance, following five days of promotion, during which tickets could also be bought online, the Innsbruck 2012 Organising Committee has confirmed that 80 % tickets for indoor events and official ceremonies have been sold.

We wish everyone all our best to those taking part in the end of the Torch Relay and also to all the teams and accompanying persons that are heading for Innsbruck!
