2017 EYOF – EOC EVALUATION COMMISSION VISITS SARAJEVO
22 February 2012
Sarajevo (BIH), 21st February – the evaluation commission for the Sarajevo bid to host the 2017 European Youth Olympic Festival visited the NOC of Bosnia-Herzegovina from the 16th to the 18th of February, where commission chair Josef Liba (SVK), accompanied by his colleague Guro Lium (NOR) and EYOF Director Katarina Nycova, met secretary general ad interim Saïd Fazlagic and the team in charge of the candidature, and visited various proposed venues in Sarajevo and East Sarajevo.
The delegates were able to witness the immense Olympic heritage left the city by the 1984 Olympics, in particular the Zetra Olympic complex, and welcomed the excellent work done and progress made in the last two years, Liba having already paid a visit to Sarajevo then on occasion of its candidature for the 2015 EYOF.
During their stay, the commission gave the team in Sarajevo, the only city that has put itself forward for the 2017 EYOF, lots of advice with which to perfect their candidature in view of the EOC's end of year assembly, which will be called upon to officially award the 2017 EYOF to the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
