The Organising Committee of the Winter European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) Vuokatti 2021 has officially launched its volunteering programme.
Applicants can register on the Vuokatti 2021 website within February 2020.
Organisers are looking for young people to help with day-to-day operations at the Games, which will be held in Finland from 6-13 February 2021, especially in the following areas: accreditation, attachés, guest services, NOC services, media & marketing, sports.
Most of the volunteers will come from local sport clubs, as well as schools and universities.
Officials from Vuokatti 2021 have described volunteering as a valuable opportunity to participate in the biggest multisport events in Europe, as well as a chance to improve their language skills and meet people from all over the world.
“We have a strong volunteer culture here in Finland and I believe this will be our strength also at the EYOF,” said EYOF 2021 Secretary General Marita Kaipainen. “It will be great to see volunteers from all over the world gathered in Vuokatti. They will learn from us, but also share with us their customs and traditions, creating a unique atmosphere. We are stronger together!”
At the previous Winter EYOF Sarajevo and East Sarajevo 2019, 1,200 volunteers helped to the smoothly running of the event.
The EOC is an international non-governmental not-for-profit organisation whose objective is to propagate the fundamental principles of Olympism at European level.
