The Czech Republic has a particularly rich sporting history and some of the country’s athletes have created legendary moments known the world over.

These include Vera Čáslavská winning seven Olympic gold medals throughout her career, Emil Zátopek claiming three gold medals at the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki, and the all-conquering men’s ice hockey team at the Winter Olympic Games Nagano 1998. Based on its past, the future of Olympic sports also looks bright for the Czech Republic, with more historic moments undoubtedly to come.
