EOC EYOF Commission meets following Bakuriani and Skopje 2025

The EOC’s European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) Commission met in Šamorín, Slovakia, on 15 September, led by Chair Líney Rut Halldórsdóttir and joined by EOC Secretary General Carlo Mornati.

In 2025, both the Winter EYOF in Bakuriani and Summer EYOF in Skopje provided Europe’s best young athletes aged 14-18 with the opportunity to compete in international multi-sport events for the first time.

The Commission discussed key successes and learnings from both editions, with Bakuriani 2025 Coordination Commission Chair Florin Misca providing a brief summary of the 17th Winter edition in Georgia.

Additionally, reports were presented on upcoming events. In 2027, Brașov, Romania will host the Winter edition, while Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy will host the Summer edition.

As preparations for both events continue to advance, the EYOF Commission confirmed the Coordination Commission for these events as well as for the 2029 editions.

Chair Líney Rut Halldórsdóttir said: “This Commission meeting provided an excellent opportunity to thoroughly review both the Bakuriani and Skopje events, and the valuable insights and lessons learned will directly inform our planning for the upcoming 2027 editions in Brașov and Lignano Sabbiadoro.

“I’m pleased that we could confirm our Coordination Commission and continue building on the strong foundation established by these recent events.”
