BAKU 2015 EUROPEAN GAMES – CEREMONIES VOLUNTER PERFORMERS WANTED

Baku (AZE), October 6, 2014 – Artistic Director Dimitris Papaioannou and US production company, FiveCurrents have been contracted to produce next June the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the Inaugural European Games.
Mr Papaioannou a renowned artist, choreographer, performer and visionary is highly regarded for his spectacular work as artistic director of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games ceremonies. Since then, he has created several ground-breaking shows that have been performed all over the world to a combined audience of hundreds of thousands.
FiveCurrents produced the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games Ceremonies and other credits include the Rio 2007 and Guadalajara 2011 Pan American Games’ Ceremonies, the 15th Anniversary of Cinco de Mayo and the Reveillon Copacabana New Year’s Celebration for Rio de Janeiro.

To ensure the ceremonies of the first ever European Games to be a spectacular celebration of sport, country people and culture, approximately 6,000 enthusiastic volunteer performers will be needed to represent the best of Azerbaijan in the 68,000 capacity National Stadium and to a television audience of millions throughout Europe and the world.
The Opening Ceremony will take place on Friday 12 June 2015 and the Closing Ceremony will be on Sunday 28 June.
Baku 2015 organisers BEGOC are looking for the most enthusiastic, energetic men and women of all ages and abilities. The only requirements are to be at least 18 years old on 1 March 2015 and that to be available to rehearse from this date until the Ceremony.
