Celebrating a decade of #BeActive
A movement renewed
with fresh initiatives.

The EOC has proudly partnered with the #BeActive campaign since its inception in 2015. In 2025, we mark a significant milestone: 10 years of inspiring Europe to move more and live healthier lives.

10 YEARS. 42 COUNTRIES. ONE MOVEMENT.

Launched by the European Commission, the European Week of Sport and #BeActive campaign set out to combat physical inactivity across the continent. What began as a single initiative has flourished into a dynamic movement reaching across 42 countries and regions, engaging millions of individuals from all walks of life.

Over the past decade, #BeActive has united communities, cultivated healthy habits, and celebrated the joy of movement. More than a campaign, it has become a shared promise to build a healthier, more inclusive, and more connected Europe.

THE POWER OF MOVEMENT IN A DIGITAL AGE

In today’s screen-dominated world, we often find ourselves constantly connected online, but increasingly disconnected from real-life activity. Hours of screen time, sedentary routines, and minimal physical movement are taking a toll on our health and well-being.

The 2025 #BeActive campaign recognises these challenges. It doesn’t call for abandoning our digital lives but encourages us to take small, meaningful steps toward balance. It’s about moving more and scrolling less. About rediscovering energy, clarity, and connection through even modest increases in physical activity.

A DECADE OF PROGRESS, A FUTURE OF POSSIBILITY

The past ten years have transformed #BeActive from a campaign into a thriving community of people who took that all-important first step: to move. #BeActive has fostered a sense of belonging and collective strength.

Because movement is more than physical activity. It’s about confidence, connection, and community that we experience each day in our many sport clubs across the European Union.
