COUNTDOWN TO EYOF 2019 KICKED OFF IN SARAJEVO

The countdown to the Sarajevo & East Sarajevo 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival has started. The solemn discovery of the big Groodvy mascot and the setting of the clock was celebrated in front of the Sarajevo City Centre yesterday, 23 May.

The EYOF belongs to the European Olympic Committees and, with 25 years of tradition, is the first top European multi-sport event aimed at young athletes aged 14 to 18. A winter and summer edition is organised every two years. The EYOF 2019 Winter edition will be held from 9 to 16 February 2019 and it will be the biggest sports event in Sarajevo and East Sarajevo after the 1984 Olympics.

The Countdown Ceremony was opened by the mayor of Sarajevo City Abdulah Skaka, President of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina Siniša Kisić, Director of the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board Nermin Muzur, as well as Director and Deputy Director of EYOF 2019 Organising Committee Senahid Godinjak and Natko Sudžuka.

Before the official opening, there was also a fun part of the program. For all present, but above all the youngest ones, creative workshops on the subject of Olympics and social games (not angry man, hop hop, quiz) were organised.
