More than 4,000 athletes and participants will gather in Skopje, North Macedonia for the 18th Summer edition of the EYOF from 20–26 July 2025.
Athletes aged 14-18 are eligible to compete in the EYOFs, providing them with valuable experience of a multi-sport event and a unique opportunity to experience the Olympic Values, both on and off the field of play.
Europe’s talented young athletes from 50 delegations, including the EOC Refugee Team, will participate at the EYOF in a vibrant celebration of sport.
There are 15 sports on the programme, of which 11 will take place in Skopje – athletics, badminton, 3×3 basketball, canoe slalom, handball, judo, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo and volleyball.
Nearby Kumanovo will host basketball, road cycling and mountain biking, while Osijek, Croatia will host artistic gymnastics, underlining the EOC’s commitment to a sustainable hosting model which maximises the use of existing and temporary facilities.
For individual badminton and shooting events, gold medallists will earn qualification places for the 2027 European Games, underlining the importance of the EYOF in providing pathways for athletes to compete at the biggest competitions.
All sport competition and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies at Skopje 2025 can be streamed live or watched on demand through EOC TV.
In addition to the sport programme, 27 European Young Olympic Ambassadors (EYOA) will be on site throughout the EYOF to lead a range of interactive educational and cultural activities, enriching the participating athletes’ experience and reinforcing the values at the heart of the Olympic Movement.
Skopje 2025 will mark the ninth edition of the EOC’s highly successful EYOA programme, and the 27 ambassadors will be supported by seven alumni as mentors.
EOC President Spyros Capralos expressed his enthusiasm for the EYOF.
“The EYOF represents an important opportunity for Europe’s next generation of athletes to take their first steps on the international stage,” President Capralos said.
“Many of these talented young athletes will go on to represent their countries at the European Games and the Olympic Games, and for many more this will be an experience where they discover the beauty of Olympism and make friends for life.
