The International Olympic Committee (IOC), in partnership with Deloitte – the Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, has announced the launch of the 2025 edition of the IOC Climate Action Awards.
Since their launch in November 2022, the IOC Climate Action Awards have recognised the proactive commitments of athletes, International Federations (IFs), and National Olympic Committees (NOCs) in addressing climate change.
These awards aim to recognise, endorse, and celebrate the endeavours of the main stakeholders within the Olympic Movement through innovative and measurable initiatives, inspiring others to follow them by presenting impactful and replicable initiatives.
Through the 2025 edition, the IOC and Deloitte join forces to expedite emission reductions across NOCs, IFs, and athletes with the aim of fostering sustainability within sport.
Applicants are invited to propose initiatives that deliver measurable environmental outcomes, such as reducing overall carbon footprints, encouraging the recycling of sports equipment, limiting waste and material consumption, or advancing sustainable food practices.
TOP Partner Deloitte contributes its distinguished expertise to the formulation of the programme’s evaluation criteria and prize framework, while offering personalized support to winners to enhance their sustainability endeavors.
Winning IFs will be granted access to an exclusive Innovation Lab experience, delivered by Deloitte’s Greenhouse team from the Deloitte firm based near the respective winner. The winning NOCs will benefit from a Innovation Lab experience delivered by Deloitte’s Greenhouse team. Athlete winners will participate in a six-month mentorship engagement, involving approximately two hours per month, with a regional Deloitte sustainability advisor. This mentorship initiative is designed to facilitate the development and advancement of the athletes’ award-winning programmes, assisting in maximizing their climate impact.

– Applications are open until 27 June 2025
– The IOC Climate Action Awards 2025 shorstlist will be announced in November 2025
– Winners will be revealed during the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026
