The Olympic Committee of Kosovo (KOK) celebrates today March 14 the 2017 “Laureate” Ceremony.
The event will be held tonight at the Golden Imperial Restaurant, where the Laureate Selection Commission will award the 2017 Best Athlete and Sportsman, the National Team of the Year (Men and Women), the Trainer of the Year, the Olympics (Men and Women) and others.
For 2016 the athletes of the year were Majlinda Kelmendi (judo) and Herolind Nishevci (karate).
The Professional Jury for Laureate 2017 is made of several people from the sports movement and the Kosovan Press: KOK Executive Board members Ferit Zekolli and Mehmet Bogujevci, Shqipe Bajçinca Brestovci and journalists Arsim Maxhera and Qëndresa Krelani, selected by the Association of Kosovo Sports Journalists.
With the first participation at the Winter Olympics, this year’s celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Independence, as well as the several initiatives implemented, such as the scholarships granted to athletes or the Olympic Festival in Pristina, the NOC of Kosovo is confirming its strong commitment to sport, and especially its increasing growth within the Olympic Movement.
