The European Olympic Committees (EOC) and the Istanbul 2027 Organising Committee have successfully concluded the Chefs de Mission Seminar, bringing together representatives of 48 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and more than 200 participants, from across Europe for four days of dialogue, planning and collaboration ahead of the 4th European Games.
The Seminar marked an important milestone in the Games’ preparation process, providing an opportunity for the EOC, the Organising Committee and participating NOCs to review progress, discuss operational planning and reinforce the close cooperation that will underpin the successful delivery of Istanbul 2027.
Throughout the week, Chefs de Mission engaged in a series of working sessions and constructive discussions with the Organising Committee, gaining greater insight into preparations while providing valuable feedback from the perspective of participating delegations. The exchange reaffirmed the shared commitment of all stakeholders to delivering athlete-focused, high-quality Games.
EOC President Spyros Capralos said:
“The Chefs de Mission Seminar has once again demonstrated the importance of close collaboration between the EOC, our National Olympic Committees and the Organising Committee. The discussions held throughout the week have strengthened our collective preparations and reinforced our confidence as we move into the final stage on the road to Istanbul 2027.”
EOC Coordination Commission Chair Mihai Covaliu said:
“This Seminar has been an important opportunity to bring everyone together around a common objective. The constructive dialogue and openness shown throughout the week reflect the strong partnership that continues to develop between the EOC, the Organising Committee and our NOCs. We leave Istanbul with a shared understanding of the work ahead and great confidence in the progress being made.”
Istanbul 2027 CEO Prof. Dr. Veli Ozan Çakır said:
“We were delighted to welcome the Chefs de Mission to Istanbul and to showcase the progress of our preparations. Although the Games will be hosted in Istanbul, they belong not only to our city but to all of us and to the whole of Europe. That is why the feedback received during the Seminar has been so valuable. It will help us further refine our planning as we continue working closely with the EOC and all participating National Olympic Committees towards a successful edition of the European Games. Together, we are committed to delivering the best possible experience for athletes, teams, and all stakeholders across Europe.”
