The 45th EOC Seminar & Olympic Solidarity Forum, taking place on 3–4 October in Malta, marks a particularly significant moment for the European Olympic Movement. This special edition will be held this year in conjunction with Olympic Solidarity, underlining a shared commitment to strengthening sport and athletes’ development through strategic support programmes. The event will bring together National Olympic Committees (NOCs) from across Europe for discussions on the key challenges facing the Olympic Movement.
For this special edition, the EOC, in collaboration with the Olympic Solidarity, has developed a new interactive format designed to improve engagement among participating NOCs. The format moves away from traditional formal sessions to encourage more open dialogue and practical knowledge sharing.
The event provides a unique opportunity for European NOCs to connect, reflect, and grow—ensuring they are empowered to lead, to support their athletes effectively, and to promote the principles and values of Olympism and sport.
The two-day programme will include six workshops covering key topics designed to inspire deep reflection and exchange experiences to take home practical knowledge:
- EOC GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT | BASIC PRINCIPLES AND POTENTIAL IMPROVEMENTS IN GOOD GOVERNANCE
- NOCs | ENHANCING NOC OPERATIONS THROUGH AI
- ATHLETES | GIVING ATHLETES A VOICE, PROTECTING AND SUPPORTING THEIR INTEGRITY (SAFEGUARDING, ETHICS) AND PROMOTING ATHLETE CAREER TRANSITION
- EOC EVENTS | FROM GRASSROOTS TO ELITE: ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT AND PARTICIPATION IN EOC EVENTS
- SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT | BUILDING A BETTER AND HEALTHIER WORLD THROUGH SPORT
- DIGITAL MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS | STRENGTHENING OUTREACH AND BRAND IDENTITY
The workshops will focus on providing practical solutions to current challenges and topics.
On 3 October, during the Gala Dinner, the winner of the 10th Winter Piotr Nurowski Prize for Best European Young Athlete will be announced. The award, voted on by participating NOCs, recognises Europe’s top young winter sports talent, with five finalists in the running.
Before the start of the 45th EOC Seminar and Olympic Solidarity Forum, EOC President Spyros Capralos will lead an EOC Executive Committee meeting on Thursday, 2 October.
President Capralos said: “The EOC Seminar and Olympic Solidarity Forum has always been a special moment for the European Olympic Movement as we gather to discuss the issues facing our NOCs.
“The aim is to create the right environment for NOCs to interact openly, exchange experiences and take home practical knowledge that will benefit their daily work. I want to thank President Julian Pace Bonello and his team at the NOC of Malta for their warm welcome and generous hospitality.”
