The 2022 Summer Piotr Nurowski Prize winner Angelina Topić has received further acclaim by being awarded the title of Most Successful Sportswoman of 2025 by the Serbian National Olympic Committee.
Topić enjoyed a memorable season, winning bronze in the Women’s High Jump at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo at the age of just 20.
She also won gold at the European Athletics U23 Championships in Bergen, and was the only athlete from Serbia to win a medal at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn, claiming silver.
Topić’s success in 2025 continued her remarkable rise since winning the 11th Summer edition of the Piotr Nurowski Prize for the Best Young European Athlete in 2022.
The Serbian NOC’s award ceremony was broadcast live on its YouTube channel as well as on the Second and Satellite channels of Radio-Television Serbia, with the award presented by the Serbian Minister of Sports, Mr. Zoran Gajić.
After being recognised with the EOC’s prestigious honour, Topić has achieved many milestones, including gold at the 2024 U20 World Champion in High Jump and silver at the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome.
The Piotr Nurowski Prize was created in 2011 and is awarded annually to athletes aged between 14 and 18 who have excelled in their sport and embodied the Olympic Values both inside and outside of competition over the past year.
Five athletes are shortlisted each year, all receiving a training scholarship, and the winner is decided by a vote of the National Olympic Committees.
